Celebrating Black History Month

The Notre Dame community celebrated Black History Month with performances, discussions, and outreach.

Walk the Walk Week Service Project

On February 1, students volunteered to pack donations into care packages for four local charities: the Center for the Homeless, Hope Ministries, Our Lady of the Road, and St. Margaret’s House.

Gettin’ jazzy

Saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin, a five-time Grammy-nominated musician, brought her band to the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center to jam and answer questions for students playing in the Collegiate Jazz Festival on February 21–22.

Inaugural BSA Awards

The Black Student Association hosted an awards show with plenty of talent on display at Washington Hall on February 14.

Moving in

Last September, Notre Dame partnered with Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County to build five homes on Harrison Avenue in South Bend in honor of the Inauguration of President Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C. Families started to receive keys to their new homes starting in February.
